NASCAR Late Models
Late model race cars are the highest class of local stock car racing vehicles at many race tracks in the United States and Canada. Some regional and lower national-level series race in late models. Varieties of late models (ranked from highest vehicle performance to lowest) include super late models, late models, and limited late models. Some series require crate motors to be utilized by racecars under their sanction, which often utilize GM 604 engines.
NASCAR Super Stocks
The NASCAR Super Stocks are Kern County Raceway’s fastest growing division. 2016 will be the Super Stocks 3rd full season at KCRP. You’ll see a couple different styles of cars in this division. The more traditional steel bodied race cars that were once street cars, to the pupose built slick bodied race cars, similar in looks to the late models. The most popular engine for this division is the GM 602 crate. The Spec Mods run a treaded Hoosier Tire.
NASCAR Spec Mods
The NASCAR Spec Mods are an open wheel division designed to be an opportunity for drivrs to get some great half mile race experience while helping keep costs affordable for the race teams. The majority of these cars began their lives as dirt modifieds, that have been converted to run on the asphalt. This division also utilizes the GM 602 Crate Engine and a treaded Hoosier Tire.
NASCAR Hot Stocks
Bangers, Super 4″s they go by many names in hte racing world, here at Kern County Raceway, we call them the NASCAR Mini Stocks. This entry level division is fun to watch and provides great racing on KCRP’s quarter mile. Honda, Toyota, Chevy, and Acura 4 cylinder cars are among the most popular. These drivers race for a NASCAR Track Championship at Kern County Raceway.
INEX Legends
5/8 Scale versions of 1930’s and 40’s “Hard Tops”. Motorcycle powered motors with a lightweight chassis make this class one of the most competitive and exciting divisions to watch at KCRP
INEX Bandoleros
A class of racing for our future superstars. Every chassis is made the same, every car has the same Briggs & Stratton motors. The only thing different with the other cars are the drivers, colors and numbers. A highly competitive division of racing and a great way for younger racers to break into the sport.
Sr. Mini Dwarfs
“The Future Stars of Racing” begin their careers in the Mini Dwarf Class. This division broken into 2 sub-divisions, JR’s (5 to 8 year olds) & SR’s (9 to 13 year olds). These young racers battle it out on Kern County Raceway’s eighth mile track in a wide variety of chassis designs based on full sized Dwarf, Hobby Stock, and Sprint cars. They utilize a single cylinder briggs and stratton style engine. The top three in each division are awrded trophies on race nights and race for an end of the year championship.
