Kevin Harvick Headlines Action-Packed Event at Kern Raceway on January 25
BAKERSFIELD’S HOMETOWN HERO TO COMPETE IN SPEARS CARS TOUR WEST SEASON OPENER
Bakersfield, Calif. (Jan. 1, 2025) – Kevin Harvick, the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion, is set to make his highly-anticipated return to Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on January 25. This marks Harvick’s first time competing at the rebranded track since it adopted his name in 2024. Harvick will compete in the SPEARS CARS Tour West Super Late Model division, headlining the first event of the year in spectacular fashion.
“To have such a great event to open up the season for so many divisions is exciting for everyone who has a passion for West Coast racing,” said Kevin Harvick. “I’ve only raced at Kern once in the ARCA West Series in 2018, but never in a Super Late Model and I’m looking forward to that experience. The last time I drove a Super in Bakersfield was at Mesa Marin in 1997.”
The season opener is a rare opportunity for fans to witness the best of West Coast racing in one action-packed day. The event will feature the kickoff of the SPEARS CARS Tour West 2025 season with thrilling competition from two of its divisions, the Super Late Models and Limited Pro Late Models, as well as the MMI Legends Tour West presented by Frank’s Radio.
Adding to the excitement, the ARCA Menards Series West begins its 2025 season at Kern Raceway as well. A longstanding crown jewel on the Kern Raceway schedule, ARCA’s high-speed, wheel-to-wheel competition will make this event a true celebration of West Coast motorsports. The chance to see both the SPEARS CARS Tour West and ARCA Menards Series West in action at a single event solidifies this as a can’t-miss opportunity for racing fans.
“This event represents everything we love about West Coast motorsports,” said Tim Huddleston, co-owner of Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. “To have the SPEARS CARS Tour West and the ARCA Menards Series West share the stage alongside Kevin Harvick, especially for the first event of the year at Kern Raceway, is an incredible opportunity for fans to witness the very best in stock car racing.”
Spectator gates will open at 11 a.m., opening ceremonies beginning at 1 p.m. followed by the feature events. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy all the pre-race excitement and secure their spot for a full day of thrilling motorsports action.
